International Day of the World's Indigenous Peoples

Collective Voices for the Voice

Last week, social and environmental changemakers gathered on Yirrganydji Country for an impactful three days of collaboration, brought together by the Prior Family Foundation.

The gathering focused on protecting Land and Sea Country as well as the people and wildlife who call it home, and came to a close on National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children’s Day, an annual celebration of the strength and culture of First Nations Children.

Our emerging leaders - and children of every background - deserve a prosperous future. As a collective, we agreed that we cannot achieve this, nor tackle the social and environmental challenges we now face, without respecting and learning from the 65,000 years of extraordinary knowledge held by the oldest living culture on the planet.

We therefore support a Voice to Parliament for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to be enshrined in the Constitution.

Signed, Collective Voices for the Voice:
Citizens of the Great Barrier Reef, Greening Australia, Igniting Change, Ocean Impact Organisation, Prior Family Foundation
