OIO ANNOUNCES THREE-YEAR PARTNERSHIP WITH BUILDERS VISION

Ocean Impact Boosted by Builders Vision

Press release
Sydney, 20 December 2022

Australia’s Ocean Impact Organisation (OIO), has today announced a 3-year partnership with U.S. based impact platform Builders Vision to enable the organisation to scale its reach and impact.

The partnership will empower OIO in its mission “to support and accelerate ocean impact businesses” and comes on the back of a successful year for the organisation that included launching the investment backed Ocean Impact Accelerator Program, and securing a similar three year partnership with Australian based Minderoo Foundation.

“This is really exciting for OIO”, said CEO and Co-founder Nick Chiarelli. “Since day one we’ve been clear about our role ‘to help people start, grow and invest in businesses that positively impact the ocean’ and through the support of this partnership with Builders Vision we can help more startups to achieve their greatest potential.. and faster than we’d initially expected.”

The partnership with Builders Vision comes at a key moment in OIO’s journey with the support slated to increase the impact and reach of key programs and initiatives including: The Ocean Impact Pitchfest that has so far received applications from ~550 ocean health startups in 67 countries. The funding will also support capacity building within the organisation to ensure OIO’s innovation programs continue to attract and nurture high impact ocean startups well into the future.

Peter Bryant, Oceans Program Director at Builders Vision said of the new partnership, “With one of our major impact areas being oceans, it makes absolute sense to partner with Ocean Impact Organisation and work together towards our shared goals. We're excited to be supporting OIO, as our first partner in Australia, and the broader region. We look forward to seeing and supporting the entrepreneurs, innovators and community leaders that OIO attracts and accelerates through this partnership.”
